Wow, talk about a storm packin-a-punch.... this one was a beauty. I have driven on Lakeshore Drive many a time and I can't imagine it coming to a halt. A halt it did, I believe it's still closed. After more than 20 inches of snow you have one of the busiest and most traveled roadways in Chicago with a hundred+ abandoned cars. There isn't a thaw in the forecast so I am anxious to see how they plan on getting it moving again. We in Des Moines only had 7 inches but now are in a deep freeze, oh how love winter......

ABC 7 Chicago News reported that Lake Shore Drive is open and traffic is flowing. After seeing all of the abandoned cars, who would have thought they would have had it opened for today? I believe the "officials" who ordered it closed realized it may have not been the best decision so they had to make up for it! Ridiculous that the cars were even on the Drive...warnings were given way ahead of time!
