Butter Is Not Just For Eating

Every year the "butter cow" is a main attraction at the Iowa State Fair. Besides the cow there is always something else that gets sculptured in butter. This year it's Shawn Johnson.

Freight Train

This is "Freight Train". He won the Big Boar contest at the Iowa State Fair. He weighed in at a mere 1259 lbs. I am thinking alot of chops from this bad boy. Check out the gonads.

Funny Guy....

So long to Mr. Bernie Mac. Bernie passed away due to complications from pneumonia. The comedian suffered from sarcoidosisia, an imflammatory lung deisease that had been in remission since 2005. You will be missed.

Sister Sue Update

I talked with Sue yesterday and she sounded pretty good. Last week she was feeling pretty crappy but she pulled out of it again. I can't imagine the roller coaster ride Sue & Sammy are on. She is a tough "cookie". Those who read this will know why cookie is in quotes. :O)

Just Because....

Well, because Val spent all day cleaning the cars, we had tornado watches and warnings from about 5:00 till about right now. Thanks Val

Which one will it be? Personally, get rid of "muscle man", he's just a little bit arragant. Better yet, change the rules and if the HOH get's POV she can eliminate both. What a novel idea. Oh yeah, Renny, hello?

As The Storm Moves On

This is a photo I took after a line of storms went through during the season of the floods. I took this with my cell after work while entering the Interstate. Had Val been with me it would have never been taken because she would have freaked about be watching the road, blah blah blah. I am always asking her "where is your sense of adventure"? If nothing else during the floods, mother nature showed everyone what an artist she is.

Go Cubs Go...Go Cubs Go...Hey Chicago what d'ya say,Cubs are gonna win today! What a great game!! 9-6 over the Marlins and even the series 2-2. It was good to see the offense participate in the fun. What a great "team" win. Now let's take care of the Brewers.

It's True, I am just plain lazy.......

Yep, it's been a while since I have done this blog thing and the only reason is because I am just lazy. So, hello to all and hope everything is okay. I will certainly try to do better in blogging on a regular basic.

Sister Sue is holding her own, matter of fact had a three-way conversation with with her and my brother Mark. We were on the phone quite a while and I am glad we had the conversation about Thanksgiving because come to find out I asked for the wrong day off. For some reason I thought Turkey Day was the 3rd Thursday of the month. No wonder no one had asked for it off. Duhhhhhhhhh on my part. Anyway getting back to Sue, she sounded great and said she felt pretty good except for her hip bothering her (she had to return to the hospital because she was on a downhill ride of the rollercoaster and fell on her hip). All for now, later.....

Take Me Out To The Ballgame......

Well, it's opening day and the Nats and the Braves will start us off. My brother Mark, his other half Ed and my nephew will be there (I am so jealous). The Nats have a new ballpark and I can't wait to see it. Val and I are going out to see my brother, Ed and Josh at the end of next month. We have tickets for the series with the Cubs. I do so hope this is the Cubs' year. If not, you know the ol' cliche, "maybe next year".

Spring Has Finally Sprung.....

Well, Spring is finally here. The Robins are a plenty and the temperatres are finally rising. Although I wouldn't put it past Mother Nature to spring another snowstorm on us. I also knew it was spring due to the fact I had to do my yearly spring poop detail. I must admit it's my own fault that I had 4 bags of sh--. That's what I get for not taking care of it periodically through out the winter months. All I can say is I for one was ready for winter to be done.

Yahoooooo-I am SO glad this lug is gone! Joel what a jerk you are and you deserve to be gone. I know Chet isn't liked by many but I couldn't believe how he was dragging Chet around during the awards challenge. Tracy kudos to you, knowing you were on Mary, Mikey B, and Joel's long term plans to get rid of you managed to get all three voted off. Now that they have divided up into new teams it should be interesting.

Disgruntled

Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.

Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their A_ _, doing drugs, while I work. . .
Can you imagine how much money this country would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check ?

I received this in an email and I don't have an opinion on this either way. It's just one of those things that makes you go hmmmmmmm.
