Just Another Day At The Office

Well, they did it again. The Drake Bulldogs went on a 10-0 run to end the game and beat Creighton 75-65 for their 18th win in a row. Coach Davis said he was going to mix things up a bit and it proved to be the winning link. Drake sophomore guard Josh Young, making his first start in six games, equaled a career high with 24 points, including 13 in the second half. Young hit 8 of 11 shots from the floor, including six of eight from beyond the three-point arc. After #2 Kansas losing to Kansas State 84-75, Drake owns the second longest winning streak in the country only behind Memphis who has 20 straight wins.(full story)

I Am So Jealous

By now I am sure that my brother and his other half(ED) are having a wonderful time on the high seas on Celebrity Cruise Lines' , Century. Hey Mark, it was 40 here today. We are having a heat wave. I can picture it now ,basking in the sun and enjoying multiple adult libations. It was about a year ago when Val and I were planning on going cruisen. Oh well, you two boys enjoy and have a cold one for me and Val. Can't wait to hear all about it

What A Terrible Waste

Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday. I don't want to believe it was drug related but everybody autmatically thinks the worse. I hope his latest movie, Batman "The Dark Knight" where he plays the "Joker" will be released despite his demise.

So Far So Good

Well, it hasn't been easy, but I have managed to workout every day. I have dragged my derriere out of bed every weekday morning at 3:30 and am on the treadmill by 4:00-4:15. Needless to say by nine at night I am pooped. I hope to get back to 6 or 7 miles a day. Till we meet again.....

So It Begins

Well, it's time to start working out again. I must say I have been quite the load, couch potatoe, lounge lizzard, etc. I am officially starting tomorrow. You ask why not today and I answer tomorrow is soon enough. I am setting a goal of no less than 4 miles per day. My treadmill and I are going to become best friends with weights factored in too. I will have a progress report periodically. Wish me luck!

We Are Talking Cold

The next day it's going to be cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey. Weather forecast for this weekend sucks.....won't get above zero and snow Sunday. I love snow the freezing of the nose hairs I can do without! Stttttay wwwwarm.

Sister Sue

Well, sis got her MRI and Cat Scan back and it's not what we all wanted but it could have been a lot worse. There are two small spots on her brain and one on her liver, thank God they are small. Surprisingly enough her chest cavity is clear. Now, if she would just put her mind to it and quit smoking. She is finally going to start chemo next week. She is most upset about losing her hair but I assured her that wigs today are nothing like they used to be and there are designer scarfs that are very popular now. At least she doesn't have to wear a toupee, for some reason they can't quite get that right.

Bowling

OK, so I vented a , but I do so feel better about bowling. We had a meeting with the city board, league officers, and team captains and set things straight. Let me just say, without going into detail, a couple of ladies and I use the term loosely, tried to come in and take over the league. Well, after the meeting they pretty much were put in their place. The results of the meeting must have been what I needed. I bowled pretty good, 177-199-201.

Bowling

There was a time that bowling was the most important sport to me. Now I fear I want to say goodbye to something so dear to me. You ask why? Well, let me tell you a little story. This year our league decided to move to a different establishment and I have no problem with where we bowl but I do have problems with the new people who decided to join our league. There are a couple of pompass ass' that have decided to sink a ship that has been afloat for more than 20+ years. Someone who wants to break down something that for some of us that has been a sanctuairy where we can forget all our daily troubles and be with friends. To this person, leave and take your shit somewhere else. You are not wanted, no one wants a cancer like you around.

Can You Hear It

Do you hear it……..the sounds of planes, satellite trucks, and news people rolling out of Iowa to New Hampshire.
No more phone calls, political ads on TV, and political ads in your mail box!!! Campaigners were every where, around every corner. I was even approached by a Hillary campaigner who came out from behind one of our bushes while I was shoveling snow.

Peace and quiet has finally returned.

Finally He's Back

It's about time my bro blogged again, seyah1.blogspot.com, like what the hell has he been doin? I really shouldn't talk I haven't blogged for a while. I don't think it's because we are busy I think it's being more lazy than anything. I will try to make an effort to do better. I could blogg every day on the weather here, blink your eyes and it changes. We have about 7 inches of snow on the ground and it was colder than a well digger's ass this morning -16 with windchill. Cold enough to make your nose hairs freeze. I love snow but I am ready for warm weather and am jealous as hell of my brother going on ANOTHER cruise.....

Caucus "08

Well, it's a pretty important election year and all the candidates are vying for our votes. The big caucus day is tomorrow and will be glad when it's over. The phone has done nothing but ring with volunteers trying to get you to commit one way or the other. Val and I are going to caucus for the first time, (for Hillary), it should be interesting. Come Friday they will all be gone, they will all be flying far far away.
